Bridgewater is a large town in Massachusetts. It is a part of Plymouth County and as per the 2021 census, has a population of just shy of 28,000 residents. You can easily access both Boston and Providence, RI, from Bridgewater, as it is only approximately 25 miles South from Boston, and 35 miles East of Rhode Island. Bridgewater spans over 28 miles, therefore its population density is approximately 1,000 residents per square mile.
In 1645, Bridgewater was originally a part of Duxbury, MA, which was then changed to it’s now name of Bridgewater in 1656. Bridgewater is well known for its iron works factories and one of the old buildings standing, Bridgewater Iron Works, is now a registered historical site. Another of these iron works buildings was torn down and made into a park which you can now visit called the Ironworks Park. There are still many of these factories running to this day.
